Everyday I feel older and older...here's why (aka an update on my life):
I finally got rejected by Samsung. That took them more than a month to tell me what I pretty much already knew. But damn, they were so annoying not answering any of my e-mails. So unprofessional. That same day though I got my Notice to Schedule for the NY CPA exam. The last date I could take the two tests I registered for (BEC and FAR) was March 29th. Of course there are no tests available in March so I had to go for February so I could put off taking it the longest. The dumbass that I am scheduled one test for the weekend before my birthday and the other the weekend after my birthday. None the weekend of at least. So I might kill myself around that time. We will see. Scheduling it then doesn't really matter all that much I guess because (1) I don't like celebrating my birthday and (2) there won't be very many people to celebrate it with anyway.
I'm really sleepy and I blame "G. Tao." Keeping me up past my bedtime of 10:30pm by video chatting me. Gah! Yes, that's about what time I go to sleep. My routine is so...routine-y. I get up at 7am. I brush my teeth (while making my bed) and wash my face. I get dressed and ready for work. I go downstairs and make coffee. I leave for work by 7:50am. I'm at work doing "work" but really talking to Mark on gchat. I leave around 5:30pm. I get home and change out of work clothes and turn on my laptop. I eat dinner with my parents. I take a shower. I watch TV or go online. I make a lunch and iron my clothes for the next day. I dry and straighten my hair. I fall asleep listening to music. That's pretty damn mundane...
Last night, I went to a BC Alumni event in NYC. It was at Point Break (12 W. 45th St.). I was originally supposed to meet up with D-Block but they all backed out for various reasons. Luckily, I saw my friend Laura was on the attendees list and actually saw her right as I got there. We thought all the cocktails would be free but we only got one free one and then it was $4 mixed drinks after that. It's so weird. Laura was with all her other friends from PwC and what not. We just kept talking accounting. Is that really all conversations are post-grad: profession? I saw Simi for a bit. Then I saw Genevieve - I haven't seen her since I was a freshman in PSBC! Spent the rest of my night catching up with her. There was an interesting period where we were talking to grads from '83. It was really just awkward. Cause those guys were tipsy and wanted to "network." The man I was talking to...I'll call him "B"...kept sort of hitting on the waitress and all this other stuff. And I can't be completely sure if this was a line, but he said to me "I like your cashmere sweater" and grazed my arm. Blech! I wanna vomit now. So for all you college guys out there - those are the kinds of lines you'll be delivering at a bar once you graduate. Anyway, I was talking to the owner of the bar and he was a grad of '83, I think, too. He gave me a free drink which was cool. Anyway, once Genevieve and I got through those conversations we just talked and I met one of her friends. I can at least say that the older alumni are "older" than I - if that makes sense. For the 3/4 of a drink she had, I had 3 full ones. And I didn't get drunk! Take that! Although, I'm still aware that I don't drink and handle like I used too...
So, thanks to those that donated to help the Philippines. I sent my money through Ben and he was able to buy a lot of amenities for the people. And here's another update on things from him:
"We're expecting a supertyphoon on Friday and Saturday. That's not a description - that's a classification. This will have winds up to 240kph. We will need more donations in the upcoming weeks. If you have any friends who want to donate, please encourage them to do so."
So do what you can, everyone! Oh and it's Breast Cancer Awareness Month. There's another noble cause to support! And Filipino American Heritage Month (FAHM) - damn! So many things! Celebrate and love! Thanks!

We're taking donations here at BC. We have a cashbox at all the events we're holding and we're gonna encourage the other clubs to do so as well. Rosemary had an idea, for the freshman dance either bring clothing to donate to the relief efforts or 5 dollars and that would go to the relief fund. Its still in the works.
ReplyDeleteI hope to be as awkward and as weird as that guy who hit on you. Hope you didn't vomit haha.
